Custom Spats Manufacturer

Our spats are cut from a four-way stretch polyester-spandex knit in the 180–240 GSM range. That weight band is deliberate. Lighter fashion-legging fabric goes translucent under a deep stretch and wears through at the knees on the mat within months. Heavier fabric traps heat through a two-hour session. The 180–200 GSM window holds opacity at full guard extension, takes mat abrasion, and gives sublimation ink a dense white base so blacks print black and colours stay saturated.

The polyester face carries the print; the spandex content delivers recovery, so the tights snap back instead of bagging out at the knees after the first month of training. Moisture-wicking and quick-dry behaviour comes from the knit itself, not a coating that washes out. Swatches ship with every sample request, because no fabric description replaces a swatch in hand

Seams: Flatlock stitched throughout. Flatlock seams lie flat against the skin and the mat, so there is no raised ridge to chafe under a gi or open up during friction passes. It is the same seam construction we run on our competition rashguards, and it is where cheap spats fail first.

Gusset: A diamond gusset panel at the crotch. Grappling loads the crotch seam in ways running tights never see: deep lunges, guard retention, rubber guard. A four-panel junction without a gusset is a seam blowout waiting for a hard roll. The gusset spreads that load across a panel instead of a point.

Waistband: Wide elastic waistband with internal drawstring as standard, built to stay anchored through takedowns and scrambles. Silicone gripper tape inside the waistband is available as a spec option for brands that want zero migration.

Artwork: Panels are sublimation-printed flat before cutting and sewing, so your artwork is engineered per panel in the Tech Pack and lines up predictably across seams. Unlimited colours, no cracking, no peeling; the ink is in the fibre, not on it. Woven labels, printed neck-style inner labels at the waistband, and custom hang tags complete the private label finish.

All cuts are available through full OEM pattern grading: submit a Tech Pack, or send a reference sample and we reverse-engineer the pattern, including rise, inseam, gusset shape, and waistband build.

Vale tudo shorts are the short-inseam sibling of the spat: compression shorts cut from the same four-way stretch polyester-spandex, worn standalone in MMA and no-gi competition or layered under fight shorts. Same fabric, same flatlock seams, same gusseted pattern, same sublimation line; the difference is the inseam and the pattern block, not the manufacturing.

We produce custom vale tudo shorts to the same 50-piece MOQ, with the same options: men’s and women’s blocks, silicone waistband gripper, all-over sublimated artwork, and woven or printed private label branding. Brands typically run vale tudos alongside spats and rashguards as a single no-gi collection, printed from one artwork set so the kit matches piece to piece.
