Blue pearl weave BJJ Gi jacket with lightweight ripstop pants.

Custom & Private Label BJJ Gi Manufacturer

GYMHUR is a direct-to-brand custom BJJ gi manufacturer based in Sialkot, Pakistan — the global capital of combat sports manufacturing. We produce private label Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gis, academy gis, competition gis, and custom-branded kimonos for BJJ academies, fight brands, online retailers, and combat sports distributors worldwide. Our gis are constructed from 350–550 GSM pearl weave and ripstop cotton using reinforced stitching at every stress point, cut to IBJJF-compliant dimensions as standard. Minimum order quantity starts at 50 sets per design.

Custom BJJ Gi Manufacturing Services — OEM & Private Label

At GYMHUR, we specialise in private label BJJ gi manufacturing for global fight brands, BJJ academies, martial arts retailers, and combat sports startups. As a leading OEM factory based in Sialkot, Pakistan — a city that produces the majority of the world’s combat sports equipment — we provide end-to-end production from fabric sourcing and pattern grading to custom branding and retail-ready packaging. Every gi we manufacture is built to withstand repeated washing and the demands of daily grappling training.

We manufacture across all major BJJ gi specifications — from lightweight 350 GSM competition gis to heavyweight 550 GSM training gis — in pearl weave jackets and ripstop pants. IBJJF-compliant cuts are available as standard, and custom sizing charts are accommodated for academy-specific fits.

Fabric Construction — Pearl Weave, Gold Weave & Ripstop

The fabric specification is the single most important decision in BJJ gi manufacturing. We offer three primary jacket constructions:

Pearl Weave (350–450 GSM) — The Standard Choice
Pearl weave is the most widely used BJJ gi fabric worldwide and the standard for IBJJF competition. The woven pattern creates a lightweight, fast-drying surface resistant to grip — desirable for competition use. At 350–400 GSM, a pearl weave jacket is compliant with IBJJF regulations at all competition levels. Read our stitching types guide for a full technical breakdown of reinforced seam construction.

Gold Weave (400–500 GSM) — The Premium Hybrid
Gold weave is a denser cotton weave that provides greater durability and a more substantial hand-feel than pearl weave. Softer against the skin, slightly slower to dry, and more expensive to produce. Popular for premium gi brands and academies that prioritise longevity over competition weight savings.

Ripstop Pants (240–350 GSM) — The Performance Standard
Ripstop cotton is the standard fabric for BJJ gi pants worldwide. The reinforced grid weave prevents tears at the knees and crotch — the two highest-stress points in grappling. Knee reinforcement panels are available as an upgrade. Read our GSM fabric weight guide for a full breakdown.

Customisation & Branding Options

Our custom BJJ gis are available with a full range of branding and construction options:

  • Embroidery: Direct machine embroidery of logos, academy names, and badge designs on the jacket chest, back, sleeves, and collar. Available in all thread colours. The most durable and competition-appropriate branding method for BJJ gis.
  • Woven Patches: Custom woven badge patches stitched to the jacket. Available in standard woven, damask woven, and 3D woven constructions. Popular for academy logos and sponsor branding.
  • Sublimated Lining: Full-colour all-over printing applied to the interior jacket lining. Popular for premium limited-edition releases and competition sets.
  • Sublimated Pants: Full dye-sublimation printing applied to the gi pants, allowing all-over patterns and colour blocking while retaining the ripstop fabric structure.
  • Collar Construction: Standard EVA foam collar (IBJJF-compliant thickness) as default. Rubber collar inserts available for a firmer, grip-resistant collar.
  • Knee Reinforcement: Additional ripstop or canvas panels sewn over the knee area. Standard on all heavyweight training gi specifications.

Packaging & Retail Presentation: Custom woven labels, size tags, hangtags, and branded carry bags included to specification.

Frequently Asked Questions About BJJ Gi Manufacturing

Pearl weave and gold weave are the two most common BJJ gi jacket fabrics. Pearl weave is lighter, faster-drying, and grip-resistant — the standard for IBJJF competition. At 350–400 GSM, a pearl weave jacket meets all major competition requirements. Gold weave is a denser, heavier cotton weave that offers greater durability and a softer hand-feel. It is heavier and slower to dry, but generally outlasts pearl weave under daily training. We recommend pearl weave for competition-focused brands and gold weave for premium training gi lines.

Yes. Our standard BJJ gi production uses IBJJF-compliant cuts, collar thickness, sleeve length, and pant leg length specifications. The IBJJF sets dimensional requirements for jacket sleeves, trouser length, collar thickness, and fabric weave. Our default production meets these requirements for adult A0–A5 sizing. We can also produce gis to custom academy-specific sizing charts or alternative competition rulesets (ADCC, NAGA, local federations) on request.

We manufacture standard IBJJF sizing from A0 to A5 for adults, and F1 to F5 for female-fit cuts. Children’s sizing from M0 to M4 is available on request. Beyond standard sizing, we offer full OEM pattern grading to custom academy sizing charts. A custom grading fee applies. We recommend ordering a pre-production sample in each size range before bulk production, and providing actual student measurements for the best fit accuracy.

We offer four primary branding methods. Direct machine embroidery is the most durable — threads sewn directly into the fabric will not peel, crack, or fade. Woven patches are durable badges popular for sponsor branding on competition gis. Sublimated lining adds a premium interior design element that is fully colour-fast. Sublimated pants allow all-over exterior printing. For most private label brands, a combination of direct embroidery on the jacket and woven patches for logos produces the best result.

GSM determines the weight, durability, and feel of the finished gi. For competition gis: 350–400 GSM pearl weave jacket with 240–280 GSM ripstop pants produces an IBJJF-legal gi that is light and fast-drying. For training gis: 450–550 GSM gold or heavy pearl weave jacket with 300–350 GSM ripstop pants produces a more durable gi for daily academy use. Read our GSM fabric weight guide for a full breakdown.

Yes. We manufacture female-fit BJJ gis (F1–F5 sizing) with pattern grading adjusted for a narrower shoulder, shorter sleeve, and adjusted hip-to-waist ratio — not a scaled-down adult pattern. Children’s gis in M0–M4 sizing are available with the same fabric and branding options as adult gis. Both cuts are available from the same 50-set MOQ per design.

Our minimum order quantity starts at 50 sets (jacket + pants + belt) per design — lower than most competing manufacturers who require 100–200 units minimum. Pre-production sampling takes 14–21 days including pattern making, fabric sourcing, and embroidery setup. Once your sample is approved, bulk production averages 3–5 weeks. Air freight to the USA, UK, Europe, and Australia takes 7–12 days. Sea freight takes 25–40 days. Orders using standard white, blue, or black pearl weave are processed faster than orders requiring custom dyeing.
